Very late to this party, I know (2 months too late to submit to the Challenge), but once I started this idea, it was impossible for me not to see it through to completion.
The passion I had for this project came from my love of Ray Harryhausen’s legendary SFX work on the classic '80s movie Clash of the Titans. I encountered so many firsts on this project: my first time kitbashing assets, first time working with MetaHumans, first time using PCG to generate the houses and trees in Unreal, and the first time I retopologized, textured, rigged, and animated a character completely from scratch.
After 3 months, I’m exhausted and definitely ready to move on to new things. However, the lessons I learned from this passion project will stay with me forever. And despite wanting to add water simulations and more VFX, I’m happy with how it has turned out. 🙂
